The University Centre at Salford City College still has a variety of courses with places available this September A-level results day is finally upon us with thousands of young people across the country securing their place on university courses. Awaiting results can be an extremely nerve-wracking time for those hoping to get into university, and many students will now be wondering what their future holds. If you don’t quite get the results you had hoped for, or if you have a change of heart regarding where you want to study in September, ultimately finding yourself in Clearing, it doesn’t all have to be doom and gloom. The University Centre at Salford City College still has a variety of courses with places available this September. From Animal Management to Art and Design, Media Make-up to Music, Performing Arts to Policing, Science to Sport, and Hospitality to Humanities, courses run at a range of levels across a wide range of subjects. What is Clearing?

If you find yourself in Clearing, it's certainly not the end of the world. Clearing is a common part of the university application process and is essentially for UCAS applicants whose university future is still uncertain. Whether you've had a change of heart on your chosen university, have missed out on your required grades or have only just decided you want to study further - you can go straight into Clearing and let the University Centre help you find a place or course that's perfect for you. You must have applied through UCAS and must not have withdrawn your application to be considered for clearing.

What courses are available?

The University Centre has a range of courses in Clearing including all-new courses for 2019 entry. There's an array of levels and qualifications on offer from Foundation Degrees to Full Degrees, Higher National Certificates and Higher National Diplomas, Access and Pre-access courses, Higher Apprenticeships and teaching qualifications.  Courses range from accounting to animal management, computing to construction, hospitality to health professions and midwifery to media make-up.  New courses for 2019 entry include the HNC/D in Creative Media Production (Journalism Pathway) - perfect for anyone looking to embark upon a career in journalism. The all-new HNC/D in Hospitality Management offers students the opportunity to cook-up their perfect career, and the BA Media Make-Up Artistry top-up is perfect for anyone wanting to turn their level 5 qualification into a full Degree. The BSc Animal Management and Veterinary Practice Management have also been added to their exciting programme. Animal Management will run at Eccles Sixth Form College’s state-of-the-art animal centre, home to more than 250 different animal species including both domestic and exotic animals.
