The Worsley College Business and Leisure curriculum intent aims to create entrepreneurial, business minded and successful students. The aim of the Business studies curriculum is to equip our students with the appropriate knowledge and skills needed to develop their employability and identify business problems and opportunities, in an ever changing and diverse economic environment.
We believe that now more than ever, our curriculum must equip students with the appropriate skills to succeed in the workplace or to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs.
We do this by quality first teaching which ensures students understand underlying Business theory which students can then apply to a variety of familiar and unfamiliar real-life businesses. Our students will be exposed to key speakers from the business world alongside well researched, beneficial and enriching trips. We want students to be able to think analytically, reach logical conclusions based on data, and make judgements on future changes to markets and the economy.
Students at Worsley are constantly challenged to work collaboratively and think independently when engaging in all lessons and class debates. Through teacher modelling, we encourage our students to demonstrate manners, respect and tolerance in Economics and Business studies lessons. This allows students to express themselves in a confident manner. Our lesson materials are engaging and promote topical discussion, whilst encouraging students to develop an enquiring mind.
Our students are constantly introduced to a wide variety of business stories from some of the most influential economists and entrepreneurs throughout history.
We use all available resources and teaching strategies to ensure that students have a comprehensive knowledge of the specifications and are capable of going beyond what is taught in lessons, through CPD our teachers continue to be world leading academics with the true ability to change and enhance students learning and lives for the better. Our teachers use educational techniques to help develop long-term memory and help students master subject content that are embedded in the curriculum.
