Salford City College Celebrates First Adult Student Awards Evening

Adult students from across Salford City College Group’s curriculum gathered at Future Skills last night for the first annual Adult Awards event. Showcasing the outstanding achievements of students from a range of backgrounds, this event celebrated the incredible dedication, commitment and hard work of our adult students and all the challenges they have been able to overcome in the past year of their studies. The night was electric and the atmosphere was fantastic, with all students being thrilled with the chance to relax, reflect, and honour how far they have come in their work.
Starting off with a drinks reception, beautifully accompanied by some live music, guests arrived and kicked off the evening by networking with fellow students and teachers. Sharing in the excitement of the evening, attendees enjoyed a warm welcome with a lively opening as they prepared to look back.
The ceremony opened with remarks from Nicola Mullarkey, the Centre Principal for Adult Education. Nicola expressed her admiration for all the dedication and resilience demonstrated by the students in their studies. As the first annual Adult Student Awards ceremony, she also mentioned how pleased she was to be inaugurating the first of many such annual celebrations.
Thereafter, the winners began coming to the stage to collect their awards. Covering a range of categories, such as ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) and awards for Levels 1, 2 and 3, the achievements of both the winners and all the nominees was recognised with remarks from teachers and staff.
