Links like these will equip students with the knowledge they need from professionals with years of industry experience.
At Worsley College, our teaching staff are inspirational, dedicated, and experts in their field. Due to their industry experience, students will receive exciting lessons that touch upon a real-life work environment, preparing them for employment or the next steps in their educational journey. Our Pastoral Support Team will also ensure students are fully supported in their studies and are given all they need to reach their full potential.
This free 12-week Prince’s Trust Programme is designed to help young people uncover their hidden talents, improve confidence and gain a nationally recognised qualification. If you are unemployed and aged between 16 and 25 you can meet new people, gain new skills, and train on our team programme.

Apprenticeships are a great way to enter the world of work in a sector that best suits you. As an apprentice, you earn as you learn, gaining a recognised qualification to take into the professional sector after completion.
Course-related employment means that students at Worsley College have gone straight into the sector they desire in their time studying with us. Using the skills and knowledge gained at the College, students have gone on to do great things and use what they have learnt in a professional working environment.
Finally, some of our students want to expand their knowledge and skills and choose to apply to university, we have our very own University Centre for students wishing to continue their educational journey with the College, opening a range of opportunities for students in their future careers.
Worsley College is proud to have been delivering educational excellence for over 100 years. In 1919, Worsley Technical School opened its doors to the local community. On 21st April 2018, the then-named Walkden Sixth Form Centre would become known as Worsley College.
The Glass House at Worsley is our specialist training restaurant for Hospitality and Culinary Arts students at Worsley College. The industry-standard restaurant and kitchen offer you practical and real-life experiences, giving you an advantage when applying for future employment. The restaurant has been open to the local community for many years, offering a fine-dining experience within a bright and contemporary environment.
Worsley Ward is our interactive classroom where you can put theory into practice. The classroom has been divided into different areas focusing on different disciplines in the Health and Social Care, sector and includes a range of industry-standard equipment such as a hospital bed, infection control area and supported aid section. This simulated learning environment allows you to develop the skills needed to use equipment safely and professionally to industry standards.
Willows Nursery is our simulated nursery environment, developed to offer our childcare students an opportunity to develop practical applications of theory in an industry-standard environment. Students on our childcare courses will also complete a range of insightful placement experiences in Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ and ‘Outstanding’ early years settings, working with a variety of age ranges between 0 – 7 years old. This will provide you with valuable skills that will enhance your studies and prepare you for future employment.
While studying at Worsley College, you will be assigned a Personal Tutor who will support you throughout your educational journey with us. You will also be supported to develop your English and mathematics skills, independent thinking, study skills, and resilience. Our dedicated Pastoral Support Team will also work with you on an individual basis to remove barriers and support you in the best possible way.
